Kurbads Ice Arena is buzzing with sports activity – 3rd-grade students from Pļavnieki Elementary School are enthusiastically learning skating skills. These lessons, designed for 2nd–5th grade students, provide much more than just skating techniques. Children learn not only to maintain balance on the ice but also to take care of their equipment, put on and tie skates correctly, and develop responsibility and discipline. The lessons improve coordination, endurance, and self-confidence, while promoting health and the joy of movement.

Watching the children on the ice, it’s clear that skating is not just a sport for them but also a chance to socialize with friends. Every step, every fall, and every return to standing strengthens team spirit and teaches cooperation with classmates. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience sport as a lifestyle – enjoying the movement, overcoming fears, and feeling proud of accomplishments.

Kurbads Ice Arena also invites other schools to sign up for free skating lessons. We provide all necessary equipment and professional coaches who guide children step by step, helping them gain new skills in a safe and supportive environment. This is a chance for students to enjoy physical activities that promote a healthy lifestyle while strengthening both body and character.
