Riga Hockey Cup celebrates its 20th anniversary!

Another unforgettable hockey event has come to an end at Kurbads Ice Hall — Riga Hockey Cup, which has brought young hockey players to our arena for the third year in a row.

We would like to thank Angelo Bomius, one of the founders of Riga Hockey Cup and the tournament’s long-standing driving force, as well as tournament organizer Jānis Jansons, for their visit.

Over the years, Riga Hockey Cup has grown into one of the largest youth hockey tournaments of its level in Europe, bringing together teams not only from across Europe, but also from Canada, Japan and the United Arab Emirates.

This year, a total of 1,181 games were played across nine ice arenas in Riga and the surrounding area. The tournament welcomed around 6,000 players and 300 teams from 24 countries.

Riga Hockey Cup is a place where young hockey players from different countries gain valuable experience, compete at a high level and take important steps in their hockey journey.

Thank you to all players, coaches, parents, organizers and guests for the emotions, energy, great hockey moments and the opportunity for us to be part of this event.
